SUMC Christmas Tree Sales

Posted on Nov 24 2015 - 4:12pm

Every year the SUMC Methodist Men's sells Christmas trees in their lot across from the old Chapel where we have our meetings. While they man the lot in the evenings, it is an "honor" system per the attached when they are not their on site.  Since the church sponsors our Troop, it would be very appropriate to support their fund raiser if you plan to purchase a live Christmas tree.  Please indicate you are with T1518 when you leave your check and contact info (next year you'll get a $5 discount postcard!!)  The lot is open and the trees look good.  Thanks for supporting our Sponsor!! (see attached for details)

Our premier winter Scouting event, the Klondike Derby, is scheduled for January 29-31!

The Klondike Derby is fun, fast, competitive and cold! It is designed to encourage patrols to prepare, plan, and compete with other District patrols in a fun winter environment at the Harper’s Ferry KOA, 343 Campground Rd, Harpers Ferry, WV. Patrols will have the opportunity to compete for Klondike Gold, demonstrating Scout Skills, solving leadership problems, playing games, and showing Scout Spirit. Awards will be presented for Patrols placing in Scout Spirit, Scout Skills, and overall points.

Attention Life Scouts!! Eagle Project Discussion Panel this Monday

Posted on Nov 21 2015 - 3:00pm

Life Scouts – are you still struggling with how to get started on that sometimes daunting Eagle Project!!

Next Monday – after we get pizza – we will have a panel discussion in one of the classrooms with several of our current/newest Eagles to discuss what they did for their project, how they found it, and maybe most important what projects they found but decided not to do!  This will be a great opportunity to help you in figuring out that first step of “What do I want to do”.
