Goshen Medical From

Goshen Scout Reservation has added a new required Medical form in addition to the BSA Annual Health and Medical forms parts A,B,and C. All individuals attending Summer Camp or Lenhok'sin at Goshen Scout Reservation in June/July of 2017 will be required to have this new form ( Goshen Health Advisory ) signed by their Physicians when they complete their BSA Annual Health and Medical Record parts A,B, and C. If your BSA Health form is still valid from last year you will need to return to your Physician and have them complete and sign the new Goshen Health Advisory. This new form is mandatory and you will not be able to participate at Goshen without completing this new form. 

Saba Scholarship for NYLT

The Ryan Saba Scholarship is awarded on a yearly basis for a Scout to attend the National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) course that is held each summer in Cheltenham, MD. Past awardees include Jerry Camarella (2016) and Craig Goeringer (2015).

Qualifications: In order to qualify for the course, a Scout must meet the following qualifications:

•  Attained First Class Rank
•  Be active in the troop
•  Serving in a troop leadership position
•  Completed Unit Leader Training
•  Be at least 14 years old 

Selection Process:

•  Scouts interested in attending the NYLT course must notify the Scoutmaster via email no later than February 19In the email, Scouts must articulate why they should attend and how the course will benefit their leadership development and the troop.
•  No later than the last week of February, a selection board will be conducted in order to evaluate each Scout.  The Board will consist of the Scoutmaster, an Assistant Scoutmaster and a member of the Troop Committee.  The selection board will select the Scout who will benefit the most from the training and who will have a positive impact on the troop.
•  Upon being selected, the Scout will complete the on-line application for NYLT.
Ryan Michael Saba was a scout with Troop 1518 and earned his Eagle Rank in 2009. During his six years with our troop, and through his young adult life, Ryan showed great scout spirit and exemplary leadership, truly living the scout law. His two younger brothers, Jake and Thomas, are also Eagle Scouts with our troop.

It's time again to recognize our Scouts for their achievements!
How better to fight off the cold of winter than with a chili and cornbread cook-off!
Adults! Scouts! Break out your favorite recipes for chili and cornbread and join us for lots of good food and a fun competition!  Bold Judges! Fabulous prizes! Lots of exciting categories!
The troop will provide drinks, dessert, plates, bowls, etc.
