FCPS Safety Alert Message

Posted on May 23 2016 - 9:35pm
A message from FAIRFAX COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Fairfax County Police Department is alerting parents to a financial scam that capitalizes on fear of their children’s safety.  Several FCPS parents have been the target of this scam in which a parent receives a call saying that his or her child has been kidnapped. The caller then asks for a ransom to be paid via wire transfer. In each case, the child was safe at school at the time the calls were made.  If you receive a call that you believe is a phone scam, report it to police at their non-emergency number 703-691-2131.
